An old hotel has been given a new lease on life – and what a life it is going to be!
The new Tsogo Sun SunSquare Cape Town hotel was launched last night at a celebrity-laden event.
Stars from across the Mother City and further afield turned up to experience the new, exciting and vibey feel of the Sun Square.
Drinks flowed and food was eaten as the hotel put up it’s best performance.
The hotel is aimed at “Urban Cool” local travellers which makes for a refreshing change.
The hotel restaurant is superb with locals also making use of the fine cooked meals and cocktails.
Tsogo Sun CEO, Marcel von Aulock, comments: “When reviewing the property’s recent R35 million refurbishment, we saw the SunSquare brand as an ideal fit for the hotel’s contemporary style, ambience and location in the city’s tourism hub. The decision was thus taken to rebrand the De Waal property”.
Here is a small glimpse of what the hotel has to offer:
The 1356 rooms are large with all the mod-cons including free wi-fi
Plenty of space for two double beds
Ingenious bath design to give more space when used as a shower
Everything you need in a modern bathroom with water-saving toilet and shower
Fantastic pool, but be warned, it’s chilly at night.
Zepi, with the friendly staff. A must eat dining experience.
Cocktails were flowing on the night.
The view from the hotel room. Does it get better?
