Street Seen – Black Christ

Firdose Moonda is back with her new-look podcast:

It’s the story of Ronald Harrison – the artist who painted a picture of Albert Luthuli depicting him as a Black Christ in 1962. Harrison was jailed and tortured while the painting was smuggled out of the country.
A film about this has been released at the Encounters Documentary film festival and the director and producer spoke about their reasons for putting this together and the impact this story has on post-Apartheid SA.
